Since 2011 every summer we spent up to 2 weeks in Pino Alto. Our last stay was in 2019 before COVID and before this hotel was sold to Medplaya. Generally, the hotel needed renovation already in 2011. But the location and SERVICE were those great positive factors, which let us ignore the old furniture and worn-out floor covers. At the moment, only the location of the hotel would bring us here again. Service is gone away. TOTALLY! There are too few waiters in the restaurant, they are mostly bad skilled and are totally overloaded. There are too few dishes, cups, spoons and so on. 90% of them are very outdated, having chips and breaks. And the tableware is always DIRTY! The dishwashers seem to be very outdated and due to the shortage of dishes the dishwashers run for short time. Dishes and cups are wet, with spots and remaining of food. There is no table service (to better times, before, you could order water or wine and it was brought to your table, opened and poured into glasses) - now you need to run for food, for beverages, for salt or pepper (yes, you may not await in a 4 (FOUR!) stars hotel, that salt and pepper would be placed on the tables! No, they are in small plastic bags placed somewhere in the restaurant. As well as you may not await from a 4 stars hotel, that a fresh juice (so as it was before!) and not a powder mixture (so is it now) are served in the restaurant. There WAS a very good choice of müsli, different cereals and yoghurt BEFORE - now everything is gone. Last 3 days we have not even had natural yoghurt, only 2 or 3 extremly sweet and flavoured ones. In general, the food choice is now significantly reduced in compare with that, what was before Medplaya. The restaurant looks like factory canteen. There is always loud, noisy, people are running around, trying to get dishes, cups, food and drinks. You can find large ketchup/mayo/mustard dispenser as if you are in a cheap street or train station cafe. The industrial "jams" and Nutella are served from big dirty dispensers as well. Coffe/tea machines are strange - slow, dropping suddenly remaining of the previously served beverages into newly placed cups. Sometimes you need 2-3 cups to get 1 with only hot water, because others are getting coffee or cacao drops. The quality of food has been dropped, compared to previos times - mostly cheapest stuff from cans now, some vegetables cooked with very strongly iodinated salt - so they taste as iodine. As the hotel try to "preserve environment", they serve butter, jam, honey and some cookies (for sure, always the cheapest stuff) packed separately in small plastic bags. Air conditioner in our room has been covered inside with lot of black points of mildew. On the second day we tried to talk to manager, Veronica, and it was very exciting - she "didn't know" about dirty and wet dishes and cups, she was really surprised, that the stuff is overloaded and not skilled good enough. We got a perfect offer - to be refunded and get out of the hotel. With no penalty! We were not very "happy" and got later another offer - our "all inclusive" was upgraded to "all inclusive premium", which gave us theoretically greater choice of alcohol on the bar (in the practice, trying to order from greater selection we have had to realize, that some sorts were just "sold out") and in the restaurant (we could order better wine, not the cheapest one as before).Mini disco for kids - so, as it was every evening before - is gone. There are no animators any more. Shows, which were run before, seem to be too expensive for the hotel as well - there are no shows any more. Our other "surprises" - the public shower next to the swimming pool was eliminated as well! Our conclusion - the red line, the motto of Medplaya management - SAVE,SAVE, SAVE! By any meaning! There are no more old guests - which were coming year for year. This was our last stay in Pino Alto as well. What a pity! We loved to stay here before.

We booked this hotel for a night, via their own site, asked for a quiet room. And we got it, there was some party on the inside where the pool is and we could hear a hum with the windows closed being on the opposite side of the building (room 235). Really glad they delivered on our wish. For our short stay the room was perfect, the floors perfectly clean, the bathroom also, plenty towels and miscellaneous in there. The airconditioning was a old model but functional. We had also late dinner (they closed at 22:00) that day and paid separatelly. The food was OK, nothing special but there was something to put on the plate that one can like, a buffe. The breakfast was better, and the fruits are really good and fresh. On the not so good, yes, some employees are not really up to the task, a bit too nervous (maybe too much work in short time, who knows) and the green carpet was old as many say but the carpet is not in the room (only the hallway) so not that big of a deal. We recommend the hotel.

I never write reviews, but this cannot be ignored. Our experience was one of the worst you could possibly expect. The hotel was beyond terrible. Staff rude, if present at all. Key places (reception, bar, restaurant etc) always either understaffed or nobody there at all. Dirt, stains, rubbish, cigarette butts everywhere. Key spaces locked or not open (bar, squash courts, gym, indoor pool all unusable. No manager on shift at all and when asked to speak to them, we were told it was their day off (every day) and that we had to wait to see if they came in. Loud music until 11pm (nightmare to get children to sleep). We got put in the wrong room and offered no apology for the downgrade to a tiny room for all 4 of us, despite pre-paying. Queues everywhere. No service or help at all (we had over 30 stairs to move all luggage with no help, and guess what, the lift was broken too). Genuinely shocked this is "4 star". Would not even give it 3. Something is clearly wrong with the management and Faulty Towers would be a generous description of what we were put through. We got a small refund on checkout after continued complaining, which was a joke token amount and should have been a lot more for what they put us through.

Rooms are small and not clean Hotel doesn't provide you towels, (we had to buy towels before using the pool or take shower) Location: very close to the beach 2 min walk

Recommended for a weekend. The location is amazing, very quiet and surrounded by local houses. It's a reasonable five minutes walk into the Cristal beach, and near Hospitalet and Miami platja. The entertainment club is well run and so is the poolside bar. The pool is lovely and has many hamacas in the garden. There is loads of parking across the street for free, but there is also parking inside (6€/night).
