There was nothing terribly wrong with the hotel, just a few niggles which meant that we wouldn't return. 1: No tea and coffee facilities in the room which in a hotel pertaining to be 4* is poor. You can hire a kettle with cups and sugar included, but at €25 per week+ a deposit we declined. 2: The nighttime entertainment was only on 3 nights and all of this was aimed at the Spanish guests. Okay we were in Spain, but the majority of other guests were not Spanish and I find this quite exclusive and somewhat rude. 3:The surrounding area is very residential and this wasn't made clear on the TUI website. We thought we were in Cambrils but actually it's a good 50 mins walk or a bus ride to Cambrils. There were only 2 bars open in the area both of which were quite pricey. Having said all the above we enjoyed our week away on the beautiful Costa Dorada. Top Tip!! Make sure you get a chance to visit the old town of Cambrils which is absolutely stunning and very quintessential Spanish 💖 Used the buses alot which are very efficient and well used. Bus stop is right outside the hotel on both sides of the road.
I’ve recently returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel to celebrate my friends 21st birthday and it was honestly amazing. I had absolutely no complaints about this hotel when usually i manage to pick faults straight away. Food and drink - There was plenty of different foods to chose from, I am not a picky eater but there was something for everyone, the only one thing I could say about the food is that there isn’t hashbrows at breakfast but that’s me just clutching at straws! The drinks were good, although if your wanting top brands then you have to pay a bit more and the cocktails are on tap. Staff - The staff were very friendly and communicated well, reception staff are able to call you taxis if/when needed. Entertainment - Usually when visiting hotels there is some background music throughout the day but this hotel only seamed to have music on like 2pm till 3pm (ish) which again is your own preference. The entertainment team were also great, lots of different things in the evenings. Location/transport - It is a 45 minute walk into Salou which we did do the walk back once as there was shops on the front which we went in so it didn’t feel like much of a walk. We got a taxi (called by hotel) into Salou and they charged €17 and was €15 on the way back around 2:30am. We got a taxi to Portaventura and it said €23 but the taxi driver charged us €32!!! Which was a complete scam! Following this we go the bus back to the hotel (we know nothing about bus’s but we managed to get back okay only costing us €8 altogether by going on 2 different buses!) The hotel is also right on the beach too! Rooms- The room was gorgeous, the shower pressure was amazing. We was expecting 2 singles beds but there was actually 2 double beds! the sheets are really thin but there was a quilt in the wardrobe we used to keep us warm if needed. The only down side to our room was that the sun didn’t get on it so are towels weren’t able to dry but it was fine because we took them down the next day and dried them on a sun lounger! Overall our stay was fantastic and I would definitely visit again!
Hotel has a massive problem with mosquitoes inside the hotel. Lots of people full of bites although many like myself wore repellent. Trying to have a drink in the bar at night was awful as we were constantly bombarded with mosquitoes. Even in the restaurant the mosquitoes were settling on the glasses and food. I have never been biten so many times even when in the Caribbean. The lifts, toilets, bar and restaurant are full of them its been like this for 11 days so no excuses from the hotel. The air con has been totally inadequate, had to get a technician to come to room but now its broke all together. Its been hit & miss for the entire holiday its unbearable in the room. I was informed the hotel had no fans last week. Surprisingly now jet 2 have got involved i can have one. Food good for AI but its often cold. Kids mini disco doesn't exists. Loads of sunbeds but you can't always walk round them they are do close together. General cleanliness good. Terrible smell somedays around the pool and in the bar area. Wouldn't come again.
The building itself is very nice, clean, looks great at night, the rooms are clean albeit very basic. The lack of staff and security on a night time is a worry, hordes of guests forever entering areas of the hotel that were closed at that time (past 12:30am) and blasting music, shouting, causing a nuisance. The sole member of staff at reception wouldn't do anything and most nights he was off elsewhere. The area around the hotel isn't much either and stinks really bad.
My parents recently stayed at this hotel, and their overall experience was mixed. Here are the details: Rooms: The rooms had clearly been renovated not long ago, with modern furniture and a comfortable atmosphere. However, the bathroom did not match this standard – it felt quite outdated, with worn fixtures and tiles that showed their age. Another unpleasant detail: a hair remained in the room for several days, even after cleaning service, which raised doubts about how thoroughly the rooms were cleaned. Food: The food was one of the better aspects of the stay. The buffet offered a variety of dishes and changed daily, so there was always something different to try. Quality and freshness were good, and there were options for different tastes. Staff & Language: The staff were generally polite and could communicate in English, but conversations in other languages, especially German, were noticeably difficult. This sometimes made it harder for my parents to ask questions or clarify details, as not everyone in the hotel seemed comfortable switching between languages. All-Inclusive Issue: A major point of disappointment was the booking. My parents had specifically chosen “all inclusive,” but in reality, it turned out to be only full board. Drinks – even water – were not included and had to be paid for separately. This was never clearly explained in the booking process or at check-in. It felt misleading and left them with the impression that they did not get what they had paid for. Serious Problem – Theft: The most upsetting experience happened on the last day: €100 went missing directly from their room. When they reported this to reception, the lady at the desk reacted very casually, almost dismissively, and did not take the complaint seriously. There was no real effort to investigate or assist, which left my parents feeling ignored and unprotected as guests. This was extremely unprofessional and overshadowed everything else. Location: The location of the hotel is good, with easy access to the beach and the surrounding area. This was one of the few aspects that met their expectations. Conclusion: While the hotel does have some positives – newly renovated rooms (at least partly), varied food, and a convenient location – the negatives were simply too significant. Misleading booking conditions, outdated bathrooms, questionable cleanliness, and above all the theft issue with poor handling by reception make it impossible to recommend. My parents left disappointed and would not return, as the price-performance ratio was far below what they expected.
