Overview
Family-friendly hotel with spacious rooms and nearby beaches.
Ona Beverly Hills Heights is a family-friendly hotel located in Arona, Tenerife, offering spacious rooms and a variety of amenities. Families may appreciate the generous room sizes and the availability of a baby pool. However, the hotel is situated on a slope, which may pose challenges for those with strollers or walking disabilities. While the hotel features a medium-sized pool and a separate baby pool, guests have noted that cleanliness can be inconsistent. Good option for families due to a generous room size. you have to be mindful though that rooms are rather cold and cleanliness is rather superficial as well we had some fingernails left over on the couch, for example because the top of the couch is simply not cleaned. if you plan to come with a baby and a stroller and don't want to body carry, this isn't an option for you at all due to many stairs. there is a medium sized pool and a baby pool which tend to be quite busy but are otherwise pretty nice we used it only once though since there's so many amazing beaches nearby. breakfast has all the necessities but don't expect too much and you have to walk to a neighboring property which takes about 5 minutes and quite a bit of stairs. so I said before if you plan to use a stroller this isn't great. breakfast itself has a wide variety of bread and sweets but is very three stars in terms of hot food or salad buffet: you have all the necessities but nothing that's wow and protein options both veg and non-veg are average mostly centered around baked beans in tomato sauce, greasy sausages or bacon. there is fresh fruit but also the tendency to just dump frozen sub-zero fruit mixes into bowls. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating with any questions or requests. for example, a lot of the photos show bathtubs but actually many of the sea view rooms do not have bathtubs because they have been renovated and the staff gave us a baby bathtub on request. I actually found the hill location to be quite good because you get a lot of rooms with a Seaview and it's pretty quiet in the night. if you're quick on your feet, you can reach the beach in 15 minutes but if you have a car rented anyway, which many of the travelers to Tenerife do since public transit is rather average it's a non-issue. Giving this four stars mainly because it's really good value for money for families, especially the sea view rooms and if you have the weekly rate and a car.

The price-performance ratio is good. You can see that the complex is a few years old, but everything works, is well maintained and very clean! We have read about the cockroaches in some reviews but have not seen a single one. Honestly- if we had read about it before booking we would have avoided the hotel- so, please get this under control. It would be a shame since the hotel really has potential. The staff are always helpful. Any requests (we needed a third pillow) were dealt with immediately and without any fuss. The breakfast is excellent. The pool is heated. I would give a small minus point for the unfortunately somewhat difficult surroundings in the case of walking disabilities – this is partly due to the location (on a slope). However, I did not see any lifts. The apartment was great. Maisonette style with two wonderful balconies. Thank you for the great holiday. We will be back!

Immediately after landing, we received a message from the hotel that we were being transferred to the neighbouring Mirage Hotel. Without asking about our needs or preferences. We chose a specific room at Beverly Hills Heights because it looked renovated and of a much higher standard than at the Mirage. In addition, at the time of booking, the room we chose was more expensive. We were offered a room which, according to the receptionist, was much better because it "has two bathrooms". Upon entering this part of the hotel, we were struck by the smell of chemicals and the loud noise from the swimming pool. And then there was the lower standard of the early 2000s. We did not agree to this room. We explained our expectations, and the "customer relations" employee laughed in our faces. In the end, we took a room in a quieter part of the hotel, and they gave us a free dinner as compensation. Unfortunately, that room was not quiet either, as the bedroom window overlooked the corridor. In addition, there were ants, no cleaning and a broken hairdryer. The only plus was the breakfast, and that's it. The hotel is good for people who don't mind overbooking and less valuable customers being moved to worse rooms. Very disappointing stay – would not recommend We stayed at Ona Beverly Hills Heights in Tenerife for 10 days and unfortunately the experience was extremely poor. The hotel is very old and badly maintained: peeling walls, worn-out furniture, and overall untidy condition. When we arrived, there were even leftover cookie crumbs from previous guests, which already showed a lack of proper cleaning. On the second day, we started seeing cockroaches, and from then on we encountered them every single day — both small and large ones. They were in the bedroom (even above the bed), kitchen, living room and bathroom. We were offered to change the room, but only to a worse room on a lower floor, which did not solve the problem, as the cockroaches are clearly a hotel-wide issue. Housekeeping was very poor: • Towels were forgotten completely after one cleaning • Next time, a towel with a large hole was left • Cleaning quality was bad, and after housekeeping we would find dark hairs, even though all of us are fair-haired • Bed linen covers were much too big for the bedding Additionally, I left my power bank on the bed, and after housekeeping it was found moved to the table and damaged, which is unacceptable. Another major issue was that electricity went out 3–5 times every single day, causing constant inconvenience during our stay. Despite all these problems, no discount, compensation or apology was offered. Overall, this hotel does not meet basic cleanliness, hygiene or maintenance standards. The cockroach problem alone makes it unacceptable. We would definitely not stay here again and do not recommend it.

Our 4th stay at this location and we had a lovely holiday. Absolutely NO COCKROACHES encountered in any part of the complex, and I was totally shocked to see a review that suggested this to be a hotel-wide issue. We stayed in a split-level 2-bedroom apartment which was overlooking the pool. It had a comfortable lounge area with TV, fully equipped kitchen for self-catering and a bathroom on one floor, and 2 bedrooms each with private bathrooms upstairs. The pool area is well maintained with a heated pool, plenty of sun loungers and a pool bar service drinks and snacks. There is a daily activity schedule with mid-morning yoga/stretching and more vigorous activities at the Mirage just next door (their pool was much colder). Breakfast was served at the Mirage, which exceeded our expectations. So much choice and everything was freshly prepared. There were subtle changes to some items each day (to avoid boredom), and freshly cooked omelettes were available most days. We found the housekeeping service very good. Overall the staff are so friendly and helpful, which makes for an even more enjoyable experience. The complex is up the hill from the main centre of Los Cristianos. A free shuttle bus operates or you can walk on a safe and direct footpath if you have a reasonable level of fitness. There is a lovely family-run Italian restaurant (Bella Roma) just outside the main doors, serving good quality pizza and pasta dishes. They offer a take-away service too. The Taurus Argentine Steakhouse is close by and well worth a visit. There is a well-stocked onsite supermarket at the Mirage which serves freshly baked items and a good choice of drinks, snacks and fresh produce at good prices. A short walk down the hill is a small shopping precinct plus a choice of other bars and places to eat, plus arcade games. Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing break with everything you need on the doorstep and the option to venture out & about then you can't go wrong from my experience.
