We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel grounds are beautiful, without crowds or fight over sunbeds. The biggest plus is the location. We stayed in a suite, where everything was new and nicely decorated. The hotel cats with their own area its a really plus. It would be nice if the hotel provided a veterinarian. The cats were sick, had skin problems and a runny nose. Please take care of them, they also need to be neutered.
What really spoiled the stay, however, was the attitude of the staff – especially the reception. They were surprisingly disrespectful and rather arrogant, which made us feel quite unwelcome. Each question seemed to be an inconvenience; after waiting around 15 minutes, we were often met with sighs or eye-rolling. Adding to this, I got stuck in an elevator - in front of the reception - that had apparently been out of order for hours. No sign was posted, and no one responded to the emergency bell, even though it was clearly audible. Other guests eventually helped me out, which was quite unsettling. The hotel itself is a beautiful property, and the food was good with a nice variety. We had booked a room with a partial sea view – you could see the sea just a little, but unfortunately it couldn’t really be enjoyed due to the supplier entrance and extremely loud building ventilation directly below the room. Overall, the hotel has great potential – the location and facilities are lovely – but the lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff unfortunately overshadowed what could have been a very pleasant stay.
We stayed for a week of luxury after walking 500mi on the Camino. - a disappointment. We booked $$$$ sea front apartment which was very nice, except for the 2 twin beds. We purchased “full-board” which is breakfast and dinner included. Dinner is horrible. Worse than a bad cruise ship. A low quality buffet where they charge you for water. For water. Breakfast was ok, but do not pay for dinner. Property is very nice. Best for families with small kids. Felt like a cruise ship on land.
Our stay at Esperanza Resorts was extremely disappointing and absolutely not worth the price. We had booked two lateral sea view rooms. While one of them had a decent sea view, the other (room 2501) had only a tiny glimpse of the sea, with the rest of the view facing buildings. This is unacceptable for the category we paid for. The housekeeping was catastrophic: - dirty glasses and empty bottles left in the room, - dirty plates and food leftovers not removed, - used tissues and trash not picked up, As a direct result of this negligence, the room became infested with ants. This is absolutely disgusting and a clear lack of hygiene. For a hotel charging €400 per night, this is beyond unacceptable. When we complained, the management gave us an absurd explanation: that their staff “does not remove anything unless it is placed in the bin.. In any professional hotel, used glasses, empty bottles, dirty plates, and obvious trash are always replaced and cleaned. Here, this negligence created unsanitary conditions and a very unpleasant stay. To make matters worse, the reception staff were arrogant and unhelpful. Despite several calls to report the issues, nothing was done, and we were spoken to with disrespect and zero consideration for the fact that we were paying such a high price. We spent over €2,200 for three nights, and what we experienced was not even close to the standards of a luxury resort – more like a poor 3-star hotel. No apology, no compensation, no professionalism.
I would like to take the time to say thanks to the Resort for the newly renovated apartment building. We had the luck to be the first one staying there after the renovation and it really was a nice and beautiful stay. Only thing is the extractor hood was making some strange noises so we did not use it at all and it would be nice to have some more possibilities to hang the towels and stuff. The food was awesome, every morning and evening there were plenty of choices. The only really really bad things was the cleaning of the room. The glass on the balcony and the windows have not been cleaned once in our 10 day stay. The floor was always dirty and white socks weren’t white after 10 minutes. The housekeeping did a really really bad job. I told the receptionist about it but it did not help much. The rest of the staff was super friendly and helpful.
