Very bad experience! It’s a false advertisement! We were expecting standard room with two double beds, but instead got two double beds rooms with very tiny space. If you read into small letters text is written, that if you are 2 people, you will get 1 double beds room. But you never do! You book standard room and expect to have space! What a disappointment! Buffet dinner was very average, we were not able to get breakfast, as it was fully booked! No info about that in check in. I would not recommend to choose this hotel!

At best, this is a 3-star hotel honestly, most B&Bs offer better service. There was no guidance upon arrival, and the room was located a 5–10 minute walk outside the main building. They also make you rush through breakfast and force you to book a time slot using an unfriendly system. No water provided in the room The elevator was out of service. But the worst is that they charge 6€ just to leave your suitcase at reception. Do they expect us to wander around the park with our luggage? Anyway do not recommend and we’ll likely not coming back

We booked gold river hotel for a week over halloween as a package with Jet2. It included unlimited access to Portaventura and 1 day at Ferrari world. After reading some of the negative reviews we were a bit apprehensive. We had the most fantastic time, the details and effort in the park and hotel is obvious to see. Our room looked newly renovated and was perfectly adequate for a family of 4, comfortable beds. If you are stopping at gold river you have direct access into the park half an hour earlier than the general admissions at main gate although there was always a big queue to get in early so we didn't bother. It's such a bonus to stay on site and take the kids for an afternoon nap and then come back in the park later on. The Portaventura app is also fantastic, you can juggle the wait times throughout the day to get best use of the rides. Our children are 4 and 7 and they had a blast, plenty of rides for both. The late night halloween show, parade and fireworks was incredible. The queues at times were big but it was holidays so was to be expected, the park is massive though. The shows in the park were also very good throughout the day. The hotel was not without fault though and the major gripe was the booking of food slots. It was so busy at times to even get into breakfast/dinner people were queued around the inside perimeter of the hotel. Sometimes it felt like a total free for all. Stressful, noisy and rushed. There must be a better way. Also, drinks at dinner were not included so you had to grab one of the very busy servers if you could and ask them for drinks. At the same time hundreds of other people were. Then on the way out you had to stop another member of staff to pay for the drinks. A totally ridiculous way of doing things. The food was ok/basic at gold river. Not much variety and a small choice of proteins. What we did find out which isn't widely advertised is that you can book dinner at the newer Colorado creek hotel just a few minutes walk away. You pay a small supplement and the food/choice is much much better. We did this a few evenings. The staff at gold river were pretty good and helpful but lacking in some areas. One day someone had broken a glass lampshade near our room, there was glass all over the carpet. We informed reception and expected a very prompt cleanup due to small children running around and lots of broken glass. The next morning we woke up, glass still there. Told reception again. Went out to park and came back later, glass still there. It was only the next day a cleaner cleaned it up. This is totally unacceptable. A few issues but overall we had a fantastic time and would return.

Probably one of the worst experience in terms of hotel. At maximum a 3 stars hotel but to be honest a B&B has better service... No guidance upon arrival. The room is around 5-10min walk outside the hotel. They make you rush for breakfast, and book a time slot, but very unfriendly platform. Elevator was not working. And the worst is that we have to pay beur to leave the suitcase at reception... (do they expect us to walk in the park with our suitcases...

Been twice and The attractions and the beautiful landscape with great feeling is a solid 5-star as long as you spend some extra money on fast passes. However, the food is probably the worst ever thru out the whole park and their hotels dinner etc. I don't mind that it's expensive and simple food at a place like this but this is on a whole other level. I've worked as a chef and with the resources they have say at the dinner in golden river hotel.. it could be so much better without any increase in cost. It's just bad managment. You need to kick the head chef for the entire park and hire someone competent. This is seriously making me consider not coming back again.
