Review: Catalonia Oro Negro, Tenerife We had a really good stay at the Catalonia Oro Negro hotel in Tenerife and overall would definitely recommend it. The service from the reception staff throughout the stay was excellent. Check-in was quick and easy, and the team were always helpful whenever we needed anything. One thing to note is that pool towels require a €10 cash deposit each, which you exchange for a token. The safe in the room also costs €3 per day — you pay at reception and they provide a code to activate it. The hallway leading to our room felt a bit tired and quite dark, and could definitely benefit from brighter lighting as it doesn’t give the best first impression. However, once we got into the room it was a completely different story. Our room was clearly recently renovated and finished to a really good standard. The bathroom was gorgeous, with a huge walk-in shower and excellent lighting. We stayed on the 8th floor and had a wraparound balcony, which was a highlight. It gave us lovely sea views as well as views of the volcano, which made it a great spot to sit and relax. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable we’ve slept in, but it was perfectly fine and we still slept well. Housekeeping came daily and towels were changed every day, which was great. The hotel also has a very nice pool area, and there’s a rooftop pool available for an extra charge (I believe), although we didn’t feel the need to use it during our stay. Location-wise, the hotel is well placed. It’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the Golden Mile and there are plenty of restaurants and places to eat nearby. We booked half board but ended up eating out every day, so unfortunately can’t comment on the food at the hotel. The only real downside for us was the noise from the road. Even with the balcony doors fully closed, it still sounded like they were open. It’s quite a busy road so there is consistent traffic noise. Aside from that, though, we had a very good stay. Overall, a great hotel with friendly staff, modern renovated rooms and a good location. Despite the road noise, we would happily stay here again.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Accessing the hotel by public transport was easy, and it was in walking distance to everything we needed. Staff were nice and we didn’t have any issues. Room wasn’t anything special but it was spacious and clean. Balcony was nice. Bathroom was very small but was still good. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, they had everything you could think of. The pool was good.

We stayed at this hotel from the 3rd to the 10th februsry We couldn't fault the hotel at all From the reception Staff who were extremely helpful and pleasant to the waiter David and the waitress with the long blonde hair who were both efficient and pleasant . The rooms were cleaned most days and if you required clean towels daily you just put the dirty ones in the bath We had no problems at all The food is amazing so much choice and we'll cooked We were half board and we enjoyed both our breakfasts and dinners. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough and the bonus was it was Extremely reasonable. We would definitely stay there again room 446 had the addition of a large terrace with sunbeds and table and chairs. Thankyou to all staff for making it such a lovely holiday xx

My advice is to find another hotel if you have specific health or accessibility needs. We booked two standard rooms with bathtubs for medical reasons, but upon arrival, we were given two tiny rooms (half the size) with only showers. The hotel staff showed no flexibility and simply said they were 'full.' If you are looking for a hotel that honors its reservations and cares about its guests' health requirements, look elsewhere. There are many other hotels in the area that are more reliable and professional.

This hotel is not the best I have been to but it makes up with with all the staff being very friendly & lovely. Any problems they're on it. The food is great & have lots to choose from daily. It's a great location near to the sea front & not far from the town. We will definately be coming back to this hotel.
