Recently back from another relaxing break at the Cleopatra. This is a wonderful hotel made special by its amazing staff. As soon as we arrive the the complimentary glass of Cava the reception staff and porters are efficient and friendly. The rooms are tired, but are spotlessly clean. So a big shout out to the staff that keep the Cleopatra looking spotless. We always have an ocean view. The Cleopatra is in a great location for the beach, restaurants, bars and a lovely walk into Los Cristianos. The bar area is a nice place to sit if you would like having an evening drink and listening to music. We love Harold, what a talented musician (please ask Harold to perform Sunshine on Leith), Tita and there was a new young lady performer who was amazing. A big shout out to Julio who runs the bar area brilliantly and Miguel. The breakfast is more than adequate with the usual choices and efficient staff and a fabulous lady pianist (we may not clap, but we enjoy the morning performance). When we came down for breakfast on Valentines day there was a lovely themed Valentine balloon arch for photos, champagne and chocolates. What makes this hotel a great place to stay is the staff keep on doing what you do best.
This was our 3rd visit, last visiting in 2021. We noticed back then that refurb work was required and expected this to be carried out 5 years later. This is not the case. The main reception and atrium appear quite nice but there’s many observations we made in and around our room: - Despite reporting a faulty tv remote control it wasn’t fixed 100% - The card receptacle controlling power in the room was loose on the wall. - The bathroom door has been soaked and swollen and very unsightly - Drawers that don’t obviously close properly. - The once attractive chandelier type lights in the atriums around the hotel are now a bit shabby looking. One of these was dismantling slightly when wind was blowing in from the pool area and dropping small pieces onto the floor below. - our balcony door wasn’t initially locking. This was repaired. - The hotel (as others have noted) is quite dated in various ways. - our room was very near the Hard Rock Cafe and music from there was quite loud until ~11:30 Good points are: - Location - Cleaners and all other staff do an exceptionally job. - Bed and bedding was very comfortable - A safe is supplied and free of charge. Breakfast was excellent as was the music from the charming pianist Erika. We’d love to return but not until a significant upgrade /refurbishment is carried out.
Just back from a great holiday in Cleopatra Palace. My sister & I enjoyed 7 days at this hotel. Location is superb and we used the beach opposite hotel. Service at hotel was superb from we entered the hotel til we booked out. Reception staff were very helpful, staff at breakfast were very pleasant. The young guy around the pool area was always available to put up umbrellas etc. We thoroughly enjoyed Water Aerobics every day which was run by 4 different coaches and each one were superb, different techniques but trained to high standard. It was lovely to enjoy breakfast outside beside the pool. Great choice of food at breakfast and we booked a buffet dinner at Mediterranean palace as well as dinner at “Coals” restaurant. Both were excellent and this hotel has been refurbished to high standard. Rooms ant Cleopatra are a bit “tired” and could do with updating/painting. I’m not keen on Shower over bath which is in every room as I enquired, maybe this can be changed in future. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels each day and bed changed midweek. Safe in room with no charge applied. Our room was side next to Mediterranean Palace and music was loud at 11/12 pm and noise from bins being moved early in the morning. Overall a great hotel in excellent location, superb food and outstanding staff.
Rooms a little older but still perfect and spotless. Staff extremely helpful and friendly and had a lovely check in experience. Only downfalls id say is the breakfast isn’t as good as other hotels I’ve been in. Pool area good , not a huge pool and sunbeds on a sunny day difficult as the huge amount of people just leaving towels on them and not there. The pool staff should be going around removing these towels !!! It’s unfair on everyone else. Also can be loud at night if room is beside Hard Rock Cafe/magic bar so if you are a light sleeper I’d highly advise asking for a room not near there as the music can go on till 2am
The hotel is quite good. The grounds are huge by Canarian standards. The furniture and furnishings in the rooms themselves are tired, apparently not changed since its opening... However, that's where the negatives end... The service is very good, starting from the reception. The breakfasts are delicious, you definitely won't leave hungry. You can start your day with champagne. The pool is medium-sized, and there are plenty of sun loungers by the pool. There is a bar. Another bao in the reception area. Three restaurants. Well, if you want more, you can try the bars and restaurants of two neighboring hotels - Mediaterrain Palace or Sir Anthony. All three hotels are co-op and managed by the same company. The rooms with an ocean view are simply fabulous. The view is stunning. Directly in front of the hotel (50 meters) is the yellow sand beach Playa del Camison. Personally, for me, this is the best beach in the south of Tenerife. At the reception, they themselves offered late check-out until 5 pm. All problems are solved in no time. We received a lot of information and help from the girl at the front desk (Sintia). Overall, the hotel is good. The pros are the location (right on the beach), the food, and the hotel staff. The cons are the tired furniture and, of course, the price.
