We spent a wonderful week at Wyndham Monterey Tenerife at the end of January, and once again it reminded us why we’ve returned so many times over the years as CLC members (and occasionally through Booking.com). The resort is consistently excellent great location, beautifully maintained, and our apartments are always a fantastic standard. What truly made this stay unforgettable, however, was the outstanding service at the pool bar and restaurant. The team led by Amar, Beatriz, and supported by Sara delivered hospitality at a level that’s rare to find. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care elevated every moment. A special mention must go to Amar and Beatriz, who welcomed us not as customers, but as friends. That feeling of being truly seen and valued is something we will never forget. Their kindness and personal touch turned a great holiday into an extraordinary one. Wyndham Monterey Tenerife continues to set the bar high, and thanks to this remarkable team, we’re already looking forward to our next visit.
likes The apartments were surprisingly spacious and equipped with a very comfy super king bed, plenty of hanging space, two bathrooms, one with a very large bath and a walk in shower room, an ok kitchen and a huge terrace with lovely sunset views over the Atlantic. Breakfast was excellent and food and drinks at the pool bar were fairly priced - we would definitely recommend stopping by for an afternoon drink or two. The hotel complex is located surprisingly close by to all amenities - included the seafront! Not to mention a VERY short walk from Siam Park. 🐉 🏝️ We will surely be back! Special thanks to Lisa who took excellent care of us!!! dislikes Next time we would like a hot tub with a sea view please… as we had to get out to the sun beds to get it… such a hard life! 🤟🏻😅🌅
For a family of four we stayed in a 1-bed apartment, with kids sleeping on a sofa bed. If we knew the size of the 1-bed, we would have paid extra or looked elsewere for a bigger room. The balcony has some great views. Check-in was not great, and finding the room and dragging our bags up numerous stairs and lifts was not an ideal start. Also we our five year really didnt like climbing up the very, very steep hills and then going up another flight of steps when returning from an evening meal. Carrying him on my back wasnt great either. Overall its fine, but definetly not one for anyone with mobility issues.
We stayed here in June 2024 as a family of four in a one-bedroom apartment with an ocean view. From the beginning, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming – always greeting us with a smile. The whole property is well maintained, and you can see that the employees genuinely care about the guests’ comfort. The heated pool was a highlight of our stay – our kids could spend the entire day there. It’s not a huge pool, but very well sized for the hotel, and we never had trouble finding sunbeds. The pool bar service was also excellent and added to the relaxed atmosphere. The location guarantees beautiful views and is pleasantly away from the hustle and bustle, while still being close enough to everything you need. However, the hotel sits on a steep hill – fine for younger guests, but definitely challenging in the heat and not ideal for seniors. I would recommend having a car or using taxis to get around comfortably. On our last day, we had a late flight, and the hotel kindly offered us a courtesy room right under the pool area. It was small but had showers, and we were also given fresh towels so we could enjoy the pool with the kids the whole day before heading to the airport refreshed – a very thoughtful gesture. The staff all spoke very good English, and booking directly on the hotel website was smooth and convenient. For thrill seekers, Siam Park is right nearby, which is a big bonus. Overall, this hotel gave us a perfect balance of relaxation, family-friendly comfort, and excellent service. We would happily return!
Avoid: This is a hostel posing as a 4-star hotel. We paid €300/night for what turned out to be dated, motel-style accommodation with serious hygiene issues. For this price point, the value is non-existent. The Cons: * Hygiene: Only one cleaning per week for families? We found dead cockroaches in the hallways. To make matters worse, we found insecticides left inside the apartment within reach of our infants. * The "Nickel-and-Diming": They charge extra for towel/linen changes and €9 per laundry load (washer + dryer). Most hotels in this bracket include this. Even pool towels are treated like high-security assets. * Infrastructure: Very dated, low ceilings, and jerky, old elevators. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, requiring constant router resets. * Food: Very limited variety at breakfast. The "white fish" at dinner was bitter and tasted rancid. * Logistics: Check-in at 4:00 PM and a strict 10:00 AM checkout is outdated. Parking is a nightmare, especially for anyone with mobility issues. The Pro: * The restaurant staff were genuinely friendly and professional—the only redeeming quality. Verdict: Overpriced, poorly maintained, and definitely not a 4-star establishment. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
