Brilliant hotel for everyone but especially the children the entertainment team are 5*! My little boy loved them all but dogman made his stay that extra special with his limitless energy and big smile. Would definitely recommend. The only negative was the explaination of the services available on arrival, this meant that the majority of the holiday we did not use the kids club which was a shame as my son loved it once we discovered it.
Just back from a week's all inclusive stay. Thought I'd give an honest review with Pros and cons. I'll start with the cons. 1. For a family friendly hotel, there is far too much space around the pool allocated as adult only. Given the roof top terrace is adults only too, I think this needs looking at. 2. Due to the large adult only area, there's not enough sunbeds and if you want one expect to queue at 8am and make a dash to throw your towels down. 3. Although the lifeguards remove towels from beds unattended, this only happens between 9:00am and 9:30am, after that they don't get touched. Plenty of people turning up mid afternoon for the beds they had reserved all day. 4. This brings me on to the lifeguards. Some customer service training would help. One particular one spends the day wagging his finger at kids and telling them to "Go Away". Now for the pros 1. Food is excellent for breakfast lunch and Dinner. Plenty of choice each evening. It can feel a bit busy for the evening meal though. For any allergy sufferers, the food labelling is excellent. 2. All inclusive drinks are excellent with good quality spirits, beers and cocktails. The ordering process at the pool bar was really good too. 3. Entertainment staff and activities around the pool really good. 4. Hotel is spotless from the communal areas to the rooms. 5. Location is really good , just a short walk to the beach or shops. To finish, yes I would recommend this hotel and would stay again, but the pool areas and sunbeds situation needs changing. Either more beds for families or allocated beds on arrival. Getting up every morning to reserve a bed is not a holiday.
We booked The Bitácora as a last-minute break and, to be honest, only after booking did my wife read some of the reviews, which left us a little concerned. Those worries disappeared the moment we arrived. The hotel was spotless from the minute we walked in. Reception staff were lovely, welcoming and very helpful, and our room was immaculately clean. First impressions were excellent. We stayed for 9 nights on a half-board basis. We visit Tenerife around twice a year and usually eat out several times during our stay — but this year we didn’t eat out once. We enjoyed the food at The Bitácora so much that we dined in every night. The food was fresh, with plenty of choice, and in our opinion there really was something for everyone. After reading some negative comments about the food beforehand, I was genuinely surprised — if you couldn’t find something to eat, there’s something wrong. Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The shower was excellent. The pool area was great. We had no trouble getting sunbeds, although I imagine this could be different during peak summer months. We particularly liked the adults-only area with the large pool and spa-style pool — a really nice touch. The pools are heated; they feel a little cool when you first get in, but you soon acclimatise. We paid to go to UP! twice and it was fantastic — highly recommended. The infinity pool is brilliant, and the drinks and snacks were all high quality. Entertainment was a bit hit and miss — some very good acts and a few more “interesting” ones — but overall we still had a good time. Finally, the staff deserve special mention. They work incredibly hard and do a fabulous job. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant and Fun Bar teams were polite, enthusiastic and welcoming. Yes, there were occasional waits at busy times, but that’s to be expected. In summary, we enjoyed The Bitácora so much that we’ve already booked again for October — this time with the UP package included. We booked directly with the hotel and believe we got a better deal. Thank you to everyone at The Bitácora for making our much-needed holiday so special. Roll on October!
I had an amazing time at Hotel Bitácora! The animation team—especially Rachel, Will, and Dogman—were absolutely fantastic. They are so nice, great fun, and really great listeners. The animations and activities were full of energy, and their hype and enthusiasm made every day even better. All the staff at the hotel are amazing, friendly, and welcoming, which really made my stay even more special. All in all, I’m so happy with the hotel and will definitely be coming back!
Stayed here for my birthday January 2026. Great hotel in a great location, just a short walk to all the shops and bars and about 15 minute walk to Veronica’s. Friendly staff, great food with plenty of choice. Would recommend. Free water station to re fill bottles around the hotel and near the room. Snack bar in the day which is really easy to use- just order on the machine and pay then its called out when ready. Pizza, hot dogs, chips etc. Breakfast they had a barista, even though it was about a 10-15 minute wait to get served it was worth it. Not seen this in a hotel restaurant before so was a nice touch. 5 stars.
