Perched atop a dormant volcano, Hotel Las Águilas Tenerife, Affiliated by Meliá, provides breathtaking views of both the Atlantic Ocean and Mount Teide. Families will appreciate the spacious rooms and the hotel's amenities, including three outdoor pools—one designated for children. While the breakfast buffet is praised for its variety, some guests have noted that the food temperature could be improved. The hotel is situated on top of a dormant volcano only access is via very steep winding road. The free shuttle bus service is essential if you don't have a car. The grounds and views are stunning. The staff are very friendly and offer waiter service in both pool bar and volcano bar. As part of all inclusive you have Jim Beam, Smirnoff and local branded spirits. The rooms are very spacious, a little dated but clean and tidy. We had a mountain view room, the balcony had an amazing view including the tip of Tiede. The only disappointment was the food. Breakfast is always very hectic but a good selection with fresh omelette, fried eggs and pancakes. Lunch is very limited as it appears only a handful of guests go down for lunch. Evenings have slightly more choice, oddly, often the only potato option was chips. But there is a great selection of cold meats and cheeses. Unfortunately at all three meal times the food is rarely that hot, quite often cold if you get in within 5 minutes of opening. The hotel is definitely 4 star but sadly the food is not and is at best 3 star.
When I make order, the hotel positioned itself as adults only, but not now. So be ready for: Experience running and emotional children. Rooms at ground floor get noise from towel/cleaning wagons. Pool towel available ~10-18pm and you need get card at reception for it (didn’t understand why they didn’t give me towel cards after registration. So it make discomfort if you like evening pool). From ~20pm it is some kind of live music party, be ready for noise. The floor is stone and cold, but there are no slippers. Drinking water is in vending machine 0,5. Walking to Lidl is uncomfortable and dangerous so buy water before. Parking is full at evening. To solve of most of discomfort, took room on higher level and far from bar. They don't warn about these features but for me it’s important . I think, it’s for vacation in a hotel as boarding house with excursions sometimes (maybe). That’s why 2* For pluses: Room is big and nice, parking free, the view is wonderful, good breakfast (not all was tasty)
Horrible hotel and service experience. Stay away! Our first room smelled heavily of smoke. After requesting a change, the second room had paper-thin walls, making it nearly impossible sleep. During dinner, water was actively dripping from the ceiling directly next to our table. The staff’s only reaction was to place a “wet floor” sign underneath the leak. The next morning, we discovered a cockroach in one of our beds. At that point, it was clear that hygiene and maintenance standards were seriously lacking. We had booked eight nights but felt forced to check out after the first night due to these conditions (we were traveling with a little baby). Despite booking directly through the hotel’s website, we were offered only a 50% refund. Overall, this experience reflected poor maintenance standards and inadequate guest service.
The hotel is located on a hilltop, in a beautiful complex exclusively for hotel guests. The evening dance shows were very enjoyable, and the breakfast was plentiful; I was even able to find gluten-free bread. The view is amazing. One side overlooks Teide and the mountains, the other the Atlantic Ocean. There is also a restaurant in the hotel garden with a 10% discount on the menu for hotel guests, offering incredibly delicious food with a wide variety.
Nice big hotel, great for families. For us, breakfast was a bit too hectic with so many people, though the selection was great. The room was super spacious but the furniture was a bit old and the walls were quite thin. Overall we had a good stay.
