Hotel Marte in Puerto de la Cruz offers casual rooms with sea views, a restaurant, outdoor pool, and sauna. It's praised for its friendly staff and central location.
Located in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz, Hotel Marte is a modern hotel that provides comfortable accommodations with sea views. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the hotel's proximity to local attractions such as Loro Parque and various beaches, including Playa de Puerto and Playa Jardín. The hotel features an outdoor pool and a restaurant serving breakfast, although some reviews mention that the breakfast quality can vary. The hotel is also conveniently situated near the Estación de Guaguas, making it easy to explore the island. However, some guests have noted that the rooms can be small and may require updates, with thin walls that allow noise from neighboring rooms.

The room was small & little bit old but it has all the necessities for a budget hotel room. The toilet was clean. They clean your room every morning. The only thing we didn't like is that the walls are very thin, no isolation at all. You can hear the people talking from other rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, 2-3 mins away from all the restaurants of the city center. They don't have parking but 5 mins by walking you can find a public parking. The breakfast was good.
To be honest - I booked the cheapest room, so I expected a bit lower quality. So from my window I looked into the wall (2 meters away), was smelly of mustiness there, and under the window the personel is preparing food and cleaning, so you hear a lot of noise from 6 to 23. One guy from the kitchen was whistling whole time every day, that was very unpleasant. Breakfast was low quality - old hard pastry, oily food, brown bananas. However during the night it is very quiet, because the window does not go to the street and location is great - very close to main bus station - great for travelling. Also basically in the city center - all the restaurants are around. Roof terrace is nice. Plus for smart TV.
Very pleasant experience with booking rooms in Hotel Marte on stayforlong, and checking in. Location is great, close to Loro Parque, parking near the sea with much space, 5min from hotel. Great value, rooms were getting cleaned every day in middle of peak season. Food is very good with much to choose from and very affordable. Staff is THE BEST, cannot appreciate enough the friendly guy at the desk who helped us a lot to get the best of Tenerife, waiters also very kind and helpful. RECOMMENDED!!!
I stayed here a couple of years ago and the reason I came back in particular was the breakfast was amazing. Unfortunately the breakfast was completely awful hot food was cold the bacon was like plastic and I couldn't cut it with a.knife. The pastries tasted cheap. The room was pretty good and location not bad either. Not that keen on the female receptionist a bit harsh.
The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is its location — everything else was a letdown. The rooms are extremely outdated and in desperate need of and update. The decor is dull and drab, and the hallways are even worse, with stained, worn-out carpets that immediately give off a neglected feel. There’s no kettle provided in the room for making tea or coffee, which is a basic amenity I would expect at this price point. There’s also no air conditioning — just a small standing fan that barely made a difference. On top of that, there was no ironing board in the room. I asked for one on the first day and was told to come back later. When I did, I was told to check again the next day after people had checked out. Eventually, I was told there was no guarantee one would be available at all — and I never received it. Breakfast was equally disappointing. The pastries tasted stale, and the eggs had a rubbery texture — clearly not fresh or well-prepared. To make things worse, the wall plugs in our room were so loose we couldn’t reliably charge our phones. We even bought new chargers thinking ours were broken, only to realize the issue was with the outlets themselves. Overall, this hotel fell far short of expectations. With a bit of investment and better attention to guest needs, it could be decent — but in its current state, I wouldn’t recommend it.
