My stay for 5 nights here was okay. There are many things that were disappointing during my stay. I would choose somewhere else to stay next time if visiting Mallorca. Pros: - beach bag and beach towel provided - Balcony and view was pretty nice from sea view room - Decent selection of food at breakfast - Staff was nice Cons: - Felt like we got nickeled and dimed for everything - no free parking - called the front desk to get spoons delivered to room and was told it was a 10€ fee - Have to pay to enter sauna and hot tub at spa, for 30€ a person - they want you to pay extra for room selection after booking - Rooftop pool was closed both afternoons we tried to go - I asked receptionist for restaurant recommendations and he only would suggest the hotel restaurant - Dirty plates each day at breakfast buffet - Dirty robes provided - Room was a bit small - Sheets could have been changed since we stayed for 5 nights - Bathroom was basically transparent glass in our room, so it wouldn’t be ideal if you mind seeing anyone you’re staying with showering or using the toilet - we were told dinner buffet was 30€ a person if we wanted to add it on. When we ate at the restaurant it was 45€ a person
We spent four nights at Hotel Coronado Thalasso and Spa and we had truly enjoyable experience. The staff were consistently warm and welcoming, it’s hard to understand where any negative reviews come from, because everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple and consistent, while dinner offered a delightful variety each evening with themed menus that kept things interesting. The seawater pools were a highlight. Peaceful, uncrowded, and perfect for relaxing. Our room faced the sea, and although it wasn’t large, it was clean, comfortable, and the view was absolutely stunning. Fresh towels were available daily from reception, which was a nice touch. While the hotel doesn’t provide its own sunbeds and the beach out front can get quite busy, the overall atmosphere remained calm and pleasant. The shuttle service to Peguera was punctual every time, making local travel easy and stress-free. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. All in all, we had a lovely stay and would happily return.
The Hotel Coronado is far from a 5 star hotel. The room we got was a standard room, incredibly small, not even room for a luggage rack, which they didn’t provide. The room had a hot water cattle and cups but no supplies of coffee or tea, as is usual on any mid range hotels. We ask the hotel housekeeper and informed us that the standard rooms don’t get any of that. Breakfast was enjoyable on the veranda with water views. Breakfast staff were helpful, but some were just rude. Overall unfriendly staff. We will not come back here to The Coronado hotel or recommend it. Take note, Also it seems that part of the hotel pools facility are clothing optional, with not clear signage, and we saw some kids around this areas.
The hotel is certainly in a lovely location and staff are very welcoming! This is the 2nd time we’ve been, this time we paid a lot more for a smaller room, with a bed that was very uncomfortable the bedroom was tiny. When we checked in we asked about the spa facilities and told we would have to pay extra. I have never stayed in a hotel where your spa facilities are extra. So for me that is disappointing. I’m not sure this represents 5 star. We had half board and the choice in the evenings for dinner was ok!!
One of the Worst Hotel Experiences: Zero Service & Disregard for Guest Safety I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I advise no one to book this hotel-especially if your safety and basic human decency from staff matter to you. The service here is non-existent, and their ability to handle emergencies is simply zero. During our stay, a terrible incident happened: my friend slipped and fell while pushing luggage up the ramp at the hotel entrance. The impact was so sudden that they couldn't move after landing on the ground. What's outrageous? Every hotel staff member nearby witnessed the whole thing, yet not a single person stepped forward to ask if we needed help. It was only after I insisted repeatedly that the hotel finally called an ambulance to take my friend to the emergency room. For nearly 2 hours-from the moment of the fall until the ambulance arrived-we were completely ignored. No staff member care about us, offered any advice, or even said a word of concern. It was as if we didn't exist, even as my friend lay injured on the ground. What troubles me further is that I noticed most guests at this hotel are elderly people here for vacations. I can barely imagine what would happen if an elderly guest suffered such a severe fall and the hotel stood by idly the entire time. If a life- threatening situation occurred due to this negligence, could the hotel really bear the legal consequences? This is not just a "bad service" complaint--it's a warning about a hotel that prioritizes nothing over guest safety. I am filing a strong complaint against this establishment and reserve the right to take legal action if necessary. Save yourself the risk: stay far away.
