Occidental Santa Cruz Contemporáneo offers contemporary rooms and an outdoor pool in the vibrant Santa Cruz de Tenerife area, praised for its excellent location near cultural attractions and beaches.
Located in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Occidental Santa Cruz Contemporáneo features modern accommodations with some rooms offering balconies. The hotel is well-rated for its location, being within walking distance of several cultural attractions such as the Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes and Parque García Sanabria. Families may appreciate the nearby beaches like Playa de Tahodio and Caleta de Negros, both within a short distance. However, guest reviews indicate mixed experiences regarding room cleanliness and service, with some noting issues such as mold and inadequate communication during stressful situations. The hotel provides an outdoor swimming pool, and while the breakfast is generally satisfactory, some guests have found it lacking in variety. Overall, it appears to be a decent choice for families looking for a central location in Santa Cruz.

The bedding is clean, but the rooms are not, full of mold (especially the bathroom), and the service of reception is not at an enviable level. My room looked out into the interior of the hotel, and had no light at all during the day. Water was leaking from the ceiling in the bathroom, and the cistern was also leaking. The maids are commendable, they clean every day. Location are excellent, and that's the only thing that's amazing.
It's a standard 3 star hotel, offers a fairly comfortable experience. The rooms are clean and the decor is modern enough unless you are very picky. The beds are very large, soft and comfortable. The rooms come with standard complimentary items including a razer and toothbrushes. The breakfast is fine for a 3 star hotel, there is a good selection, but I felt that some dishes didn't taste very good such as the scrambled eggs. They also could have offered some dishes every day such as mushrooms. Overall the hotel is fine if you're looking for a 3 star experience.
Due to bad weather, we couldn't land in Madeira, so we ended up in Tenerife, and this hotel provided us with alternative accommodation. We didn't know anything about the replacement flight, and we were all very stressed about the situation. The hotel promised to inform us as soon as they received any information about the flight. Unfortunately, there was no phone call to the room or any other significant gesture. They simply left a note at the hotel reception, stating that we had to leave at 8 a.m. In the morning, when we arrived for breakfast at 8 a.m., we saw waiting buses and, thanks to a group of tourists from the same flight, we noticed a small piece of paper. We had to quickly pack our suitcases and because of that we didn’t have time for breakfast. The hotel staff didn't even allow us to take a croissant with us on the bus and argued with us like with small childern. It was a very humiliating experience. When we skipped breakfast, we managed to pack and catch the bus, but several people from the same flight were not so lucky. I'm appalled by the hotel's approach in such a situation. No information, no empathy towards customers in such adversity.
Swimming pool is being renovated and they do not say anything during booking. They also lied about it and said that is seasonal when my sister was here swimming in October. As a family we were given a very small room with 3 beds, plain white no decoration and a really small window. it felt like a pension for a bargain of 100 euros(no breakfast) They might have better rooms as advertised in the website, but mine is really sad.
Very well located, walking distance from pretty much anything in Santa Cruz. The hotel is modern and fresh, and the rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Although we did get one with a small window into a side street, so it was very dark all the time. The breakfast buffet has everything you could want and top quality.
